Taiwanese oolong from Alishan mountain. The "Extra" designation implies higher quality compared to the standard grade. The tea features large, juicy leaves, and its taste and aroma are rich and well-balanced. The approximate GABA content is 200 mg/100 g.
Profile: apple charlotte, cider, caramel, marzipan, citrus, forest berries, fruit syrup, and wine notes. There are no sharp descriptors; everything is in its place. In the aftertaste, there’s a pleasant acidity, spiciness, and a light herbal astringency with prolonged exposure. The infusion is oily, and it goes down easily and smoothly. 4 grams in 90 ml of water at 95−100°C yield a liter of fantastic GABA.
In terms of effects, it’s classic without any biases: it relaxes the body, clears the mind, makes everything around friendly and cozy, and invites conversation, dreams, and maybe sleep. Lately, when I crave GABA, I brew the "Extra." Obsession? No, love!
