Authentic sheng from the tea trees of the grand tea mountain Yiwu, located in Mengla County, Yunnan. Why grand? Because the Chinese themselves recognize six grand tea mountains, and Yiwu is among the top three in terms of tea leaf quality and organoleptics. And it’s no coincidence: Mountain Yiwu is shrouded in mist, dense forests, with constant warm rains, and the soil literally revels in fertility. In short, the terroir is outstanding!
Profile: fig, dried apricot, raspberry jam, vanilla, dried fruits, peach, honey-fruit undertones. Nothing stands out; all descriptors are in their place, balanced.
The aftertaste is smooth and lingering, with creaminess and subtle herbal viscosity. No acidity or bitterness, unless you forget about the sheng for 10 minutes :)
Excellent for calming, giving a gentle "slap" to the "monkey" in your head, focusing on current tasks; if you overdrink, it energizes more than shu. By the way, try having it during lunch and taking a 15-minute nap; it refreshes splendidly and recharges energy.
For 90 ml gaiwan/teapot, use 3.5 grams, pour boiling water, and promptly pour it out, repeat until it’s done.
